Halloween

I think I will have spooked out everyone this year including my DH.  I cannot seem to leave this computer, or my IPAD, or reviewing kids blogs, or trying new recipes, diets, exercises.  Fall has rapidly changed the look of the mountains around us. The sand tones are wet, dark and at times seem almost purple. I have been carving pumpkins with the face of our Schnauzer Fritz.  Somehow I must get around to fall closet cleaning, contributions and trying to get friends, family, neighbors, just everyone, to get out and vote.

Ed(DH) and I are also trying to improve our bridge game.  He is soooo patient.  My biggest fan and always willing to help.  He even helped to carve the pumpkin.  He walks the dog in the rain. Runs to the store when my recipe lacks an ingredient, and in general is a wonderful guy.  Most days I count my blessings and they are many.

Rain On Our Roof

Friday and already they are predicting winter.  Our world is smelling great with wet sand, creosote, and mesquite  crowding the trails.  Doggie walks will be good this weekend.  This morning tried to pin my confused older brain into learning new bridge game techniques.  Also tried to maintain diet in the face of all the wonderous goodies people bring.  I brought apples for everyone and myself and then I drank tea and water.  Oh I am feeling like such a gooood girl.  Strength exercises completed later and I am A ok for this week thus far.  Jotted down Lisa LULUBIIRD nutrition pumpkin soup recipe.  Thought the bourbon might intrigue Ed to try it.  He is not fond of pumkin cookies etc. although he will try pie without whipped cream.  I am still wondering about menu for Fritz' party.  Ed vetoed pumpkin smoothies.  Because it will be breakfast brunch I may try a lo calorie strata, Bloody Marys(Ed' suggestion), fruit plate, and brownies.  Maybe black bean brownies for the health of it.  Hopefully the day will be fine for a doggie walk.  Some doggie buds have already rsvp ed so we should have a good turn out.  Received some great Halloween cards via email so thank you all.

Iraq

So I sent a little money to buy a cup of jo for a soldier in Iraq.  We are corresponding by email and it is very exciting to hear how his life is going over there.  I thought at first why would he want to correspond with an elder citizen when he may have wished for someone more his age.  Then I worried when I didn't hear back for awhile and tried to dismiss the worry.  Surprise I looked in junk mail and there is where his response landed because of my weak computer knowledge.  We will get on with the mail friendship and my new pen pal from time to time.  Lately I have had so much fun with my IPAD and learning how to use Facebook and so forth that my brain got tired.  So exciting.  And I copied ancient videos and got them on line in clips for some to see.  My granddaughters are such and inspiration and my grandson Chris was a whiz in helping me set up the IPAD.  So much fun I wish I could live forever.  Go see Social Network you all.  Fortune magazine has an article about the expansion of Facebook to Russia.  The world is spinning very fast these days.  Love it.
